**Each player/parent and coach had to acknowledge, agree and sign the code of conduct in order to play and/or volunteer for NYO Soccer**
**NYO Soccer has posted the Code of Conduct as a reference and reminder to all those participating and spectating during our season and those expectations to which they acknowledged and agreed upon**
Coaches/Spectator Code of Conduct
I, _______________________ (coach’s/parent’s/guardian’s name), therefore pledge to be responsible for my words and actions while coaching/spectating NYO Soccer and shall conform my behavior to this code of conduct:
1. I will remember that children participate to have fun, be exposed to the game of soccer, and that the game is for youth, not adults.
2. I will require my players/child(ren) to treat other coaches, officials, players, children, and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, gender, or ability.
3. I will respect the officials and their authority, decisions, and calls during games.
4. *Parents/Guardians* I will respect the coaches and their authority and decisions during games.
5. In the event of a disagreement, I will not confront officials, coaches, players, children or spectators in a way that will disrespect and/or encourage foul language, physical altercations, physical outbursts, hostility, or any other form of unsportsmanlike conduct.
6. I will never ridicule, yell at, or discipline my child or other players for making a mistake or losing a game.
7. I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, child(ren) or spectator such as: booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language and/or gestures.
8. *Coaches* I will ensure that players will play all positions throughout the course of the pre-Tournament/regular NYO Soccer season on a rotation with equal playing time.
9. *Coaches* I will ensure that players will receive adequate playing time during the NYO Soccer Tournament with the players’ understanding that all positions may not be rotated.
10. I will follow all posted rules, guidelines and signs hung along and on the NYO soccer field property. If seen, for those coaches, officials, spectators, players and/or children, not following these guidelines, rules, and signs, I will do my due diligence and bring these items to their attention, and if not followed, I will notify a NYO soccer board member.
Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action by the NYO Soccer Board that may include, but not limited to, the following (listed in no specific order):
- Written warning
- Verbal warning from official and/or NYO soccer board member
- Single or multiple game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by NYO soccer league (suspension= not allowed on NYO soccer property)
- Game forfeit
- Parental/Guardian season suspension or NYO soccer league ban
- Remaining NYO soccer season coaching ban
- Permanent NYO soccer league coaching ban
- Contact local police authority
Violations of the “Code of Conduct” as determined by a NYO Soccer Board member that is present at the time of the violation may result in immediate action, if deemed necessary. All complaints must include specific names of the individual (coach, spectator-parent/guardian), dates, and perceived violations to be reviewed by the NYO Soccer Board. The NYO Soccer Board will respond quickly to acknowledge receipt of the complaint. Once the matter has been reviewed and an appropriate action determined, the NYO Soccer Board will contact the Complainant to inform them that the matter has been addressed. All decisions will represent what the NYO Soccer Board feels is a fair and balanced reaction given the specific conditions that apply to each individual complaint.
By signing this document, I acknowledge, understand, and agree that I have read the Coaches/Spectator Code of Conduct and I am aware of the disciplinary actions if I fail to abide by this Code of Conduct.
